With L ’ Ancrage as your base station, you can explore a beautiful and unique area. Our B&B is located at the Acadian coastal route that runs through an area renowned for its spirited Acadian culture and its sandy beaches and other beautiful destinations. We have a little wharf that enables you to start boating or kayaking on the Kouchibouguacis River into the National Park. Two sea-kayaks, two sit-on kayaks, and five mountain bikes are available for our guests (modest compensation applicable).

Phoca Tours

Marine wildlife tours on Kouchibouguacis river & lagoon.

Where the calm river Kouchibouguacis flows into a shallow lagoon with golden sand dunes. Each part of these waters intertwines with fascinating Mi’kmaq and Acadian cultures.

See Bald Eagles hunt, stare at the second largest common tern colony of North America and meet hundreds of Grey Seals sunbathing on the sandbars.


Kouchibouguac National Park (4 km)

Kouchibouguac National Park includes barrier islands, sand dunes, lagoons, salt marshes, and forests. It provides habitat for many seabirds, including endangered species. Colonies of Seals also inhabit the park’s 25 kilometres of sand dunes. The park’s size is 238 km². Recreational activities in the park include swimming, biking, hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.

Kouchibouguac has many activities ranging from a river adventure in a canoe to Fat Biking and learning about the Mi’kmaq people.


Richibucto River Wine Estate (30 km)

Take a tour at the 20 acre of vinyards, or enjoy tasting the award-winning New Brunswick grape wines.

Irving Eco Center / La Dune de Bouctouche (40 km)

The beach frontage is an ideal location for enjoying nature and a focal point for ecotourism.

The beach is located on the site of the Irving Eco-centre, la Dune de Bouctouche, where a team of interpreters delivers programs and presentations throughout the season to make this coastal habitat known to as many people as possible. Visitors to this area of the New Brunswick coast will find a memorable tourism experience in a unique natural environment.


Le Pays de la Sagouine (42 km)

Le Pays de la Sagouine is an eclectic reproduction of a prohibition-era fishing village. Discover the Acadian culture through unique characters, theatre, music, comedy, dance and cuisine on a small island in the town of Bouctouche.


Metepenagiag Heritage Park (85 km)

Mi’kmaq archeological site and groomed walking trails, perfect for walking enthusiasts or for a quiet interlude.

 

Chien Aventures (100 km)

Dog sledding adventures for everyone.  Chien Aventures is located on a plateau to a height of 178 meters southwest of Allardville, New Brunswick.
